I have been an avid reader since I first learned to read. Immersing myself in another world was always a fabulous and unique experience. I wholeheartedly agree that reading is important as it has helped bolster my creativity and improve my grades in creative writing. Reading also helps you to see a new perspective to an issue you may have not previously given a second thought too. Although I do agree with most of his speech, there are some issues which I disagree on. For one, I have never seen any council actively trying to close down a library. While they are not used to their full extent, plenty of people are still using them in their day-to-day life. From what I can make of Dylan Thomas’ Poem, I completely agree with him that books are an amazing experience which everyone should encounter.
I have ticked off 2 books in the reading checklist. I have read a book with over 500 pages. The book was called Aurora rising. The second category I ticked off was a fantasy novel called Earth Awakens. Both of these books were fiction books set in space. They are both on how a species has to fight another alien species which is more technologically advanced.
Desert Island Reading Checklist:
- Gone: Generally, I do not like reading books I have already read again. This is a book I have not yet read but its blurb has captivated me.
- Hunger: This book is the second book in the series of Gone. I love reading series book because they last longer and can greatly build up suspense while having multiple problems. Lastly, I find that they are more engaging and keep you hooked for longer too.
- Aurora Rising: Despite the fact that I just read this, it was one of the most engaging books I have just read and I would gladly read it again.
- Buddyguard Hostage: This was another thriller suspense book and it kept me guessing what would happen the entire story. I even stayed up 2 hours in the night just so I could finish it. I couldn’t put it down!
- Extreme Adventures NO.5: This was an amazing book which I read when I was young. I would enjoy reading it again and seeing if my perspective changed!
- Harry Potter Series: Unlike most people I have not yet read the entire Harry Potter series. I would be extremely glad to pass the time by reading this series.
